Latin Flavors Spice Up
The Latin American Food & Beverage Expo!
*San Antonio-based SMC Events Teams up with TGCA for July Event*
San Antonio, TX – (July, 2005) Taste buds will get a zest of chilies and spices at the “Latin American Food & Beverage Expo,” presented by SMC-Events and the Texas
Grocery & Convenience Association (TGCA) is scheduled for July 21 & 22, 2005 at the Henry B. Gonzalez Convention Center.
Exhibitors will showcase everything from mouthwatering tropical fruits, such as papayas, pineapples and guavas to tasty habanero sauces, candy and imported cereals.
According to Associated Press the Census Bureau report released this month shows Hispanics are now considered the nation’s largest minority group. The report goes on to say that
Hispanics account for almost 13% of the U.S. population. “The Latin American Food & Beverage Expo
will offer wholesalers and distributors the foreign brands many of their Hispanic customers have been asking for,” says Quincy Barnes, President of SMC Events. “The southwestern United States’ expanding population and cultural diversity dictate the need for
access to specialty brands as well as imported fruits, vegetables and chilies from Latin America.” Meanwhile, the third-time collaboration between SMC Events and the Texas Grocery & Convenience Association is winning rave
reviews from TGCA President, Rick Johnson. Hundreds of exhibitors showcasing specialty Latin foods, beverages, equipment and accessories are expected to participate in the 2005 Latin American Food &
Beverage Expo July 21 & 22 at the Henry B. Gonzalez Convention Center. Food products and equipment on display will appeal to grocers, restaurants and wholesale distributors. Plans are underway to host seminars focusing on increasing sales and multicultural
marketing for Latin exhibitors. The show is open for trade only. For more information on the Latin America Food & Beverage Expo, call Janie Chavez at (210) 832.8444 / 800-532-3976 ext. 204, or
